Key Staff

 

 

The Onteora Scout Reservation Key Staff is extremely excited about the 2008 Camp Season. We feel we have once again assembled the best camp staff around. Please feel free to contact us for any questions you may have.

Donald Smith, Camp Director

Don Smith is a longtime Scouter who has been on the Onteora staff since 1999 as a commissioner. In 2004, he served as the Director of Training and Stuff (DOTAS) for the camp, overseeing adult leader training and the CIT program.  He currently serves as the District Chairman of the Rough Rider District, where he previously served as Training Chairman.  Don has been  a member of Troop 46, where he has served as Scoutmaster. 


 

 

 

Glenn Gabbard, Ranger

Glenn began his tour of Onteora as a CIT (counselor-in-training) in 1978. He has held positions as Assistant Scoutmaster of the Council Troop, Conservation Director, Maintenance Director,  and finally appointed as ranger in 1983. He  has a  degree in forestry from Paul Smiths College. In his spare time he has been an assistant Scoutmaster, taught at Sullivan County Community College, served as Chief of the Livingston Manor Fire Department, and loves to cross country ski. Glenn is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, WWW. He lives at Onteora with his wife Karen
