January 2012 - New Scout Executive

Jay Garee is from Worcester, Massachusetts, where he was the Scout Executive of the Mohegan Council for the past six years.  Garee graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1994 and quickly climbed through the Scouting ranks from June of 1994 to today.

As a Scout, Garee is an Eagle Scout, a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow, and has earned his Wood Badge Beads (3 beads).  His wife Pam is a realtor and the Garees are the proud parents of Owen, six, and Connor, four.

After 37 years, current Scout Executive David G. Richardson will retire from the program.  The Theodore Roosevelt Council looks forward to Mr. Garee’s leadership as it continues its journey towards its 100^th year anniversary in 2017.
