CUB SCOUTS: 4 mile guided hikes are being offered to packs or
dens needing to earn the Outdoorsman pin, or wanting an outdoor
family adventure. BOY SCOUTS: Greenbelt offers 10 and 20+ mile hikes for the Hiking merit badge, 5 mile hikes for rank advancement, troop day hikes, and assistance with outdoor scout skills. EAGLE SCOUT PROJECTS & SERVICE HOURS: The Conference has opportunities for Scouts to earn service hours on our trails. There are also opportunities for Eagle Scout projects throughout Nassau and Suffolk County. The Theodore Roosevelt Council contact from the LI Greenbelt Conference is Shari Zagorski at sharimit@yahoo.com She is a hike leader and a member of the board of directors for the LI Greenbelt Trail Conference. She serves as an adult Scouter who has run a hiking program for Pack 230; her sons are in Troop 517.
