SCOUTING promises you the great outdoors. As a Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. You'll study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around you. There are plenty of skills for you to master, and you can teach others what you have learned. Everyone helping everyone else-that's part of Scouting, too. From "The Promise" is on page 1 of the 1998 edition of the Boy Scout HandbookOnteora Sct Reservation |

The camp has 1,400-acres, and it is located in the Catskill Forest Preserve approximately 6 miles from the Livingston Manor (exit 96) on NYS Route 17 (future I-86) . The "Land in the Sky" is located above 2,000 feet in elevation and is heavily forested. Our trail system accesses state-maintained trails in the Willowemoc Wild Forest. Orchard Lake and Sprague Brook features fine trout fishing, and is part of the Beaverkill watershed, the historic heart of American fly-fishing.
