How do I sign my son up?
Scouts should register for Scoutwalk with their unit. Your son's unit
(Pack, Troop, Crew, Ship, or Post) needs to sign up to participate in
Scoutwalk and your son then signs up with your unit leader or Scoutwalk
Coordinator. Call your unit leader to express your interest in this
great event. If only one or two boys in your unit wish to participate,
you still can but you need to register under your unit number.
Do I need to collect contributions in order to attend Scoutwalk?
No, everyone is welcome to attend Scoutwalk. However, we would hope
that all Scouts secure contributions for the walk. Not only can you
earn great prizes, receive free goodies and food, but only registered
Scoutwalk participants can participate in some of the Scoutwalk
activities. Scouts who do not wish to participate in the "walk" can
still attend and fully participate by paying a $15 entrance fee. This
entrance fee entitles the Scout to receive a Scoutwalk patch and
participation in all activities and lunch!
Is there a minimum amount in contributions I need to participate?
In order to receive the Scoutwalk patch and lunch as well as be allowed
to participate in all events, a Scout must collect a minimum of $15.00
in contributions or pay the entrance fee. Non-Scouts can also
collect and can also earn patches, goodie bags, etc. A Scout receives the patch, as he collects more, he earns the
T-shirt, goodie bag, etc. See
the
Scoutwalk sponsor brochure for prize level amounts.
When do I pay my Scoutwalk contributions to the Council?
Your
contributions are paid prior to the walk to your unit coordinator or
when you register the day of Scoutwalk.
Is Scoutwalk just for Scouts or can parents and siblings attend?
Scoutwalk is for the entire Scouting family.
What do you do if it rains?
Wear a rain coat! Scoutwalk will go on rain or shine.
Is Scoutwalk handicapped accessible?
Scoutwalk is held in
Christopher Morley Park.
The walk itself will take place on the nature trails of the park which
are paved but do have hills.
The rest of the activities are on the grassy fields. We do our best to
make Scoutwalk accessible to all.
