Submit advancement reports for

packs, troops, teams, crews, and ships.

Units can submit advancement for youth members online using Internet Advancement to add ranks, merit badges and awards, and update information on existing advancements (except Eagle Scout).

To use Internet Advancement:

1.

Select the unit advancement processor. Must use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later version.

2.

Obtain unit ID code from council; call 516.797.7600 and ask for the advancement coordinator to obtain the unit ID. 

3.

Gather merit badge applications and advancement records with dates.

4.

Click the button labeled  BSA Internet Advancement Access. Follow the instructions displayed to process advancements and print an advancement report

5.

Have the appropriate people sign the printed unit advancement report and submit to council. Save a copy for your files.

Submit advancement reports monthly before the end of each month, more often if needed.
December’s timely report is important to update council statistics.

TROOPMASTER/PACKMASTER INSTRUCTIONS

Troopmaster or Packmaster advancement reports can be loaded into Scoutnet through

Internet Advancement.

First, check names and birthdates against Scoutnet.  Do not use nicknames or initials.
For corrections, call, e-mail or come to council to get a printout to verify the current Scoutnet data.

To make a file for upload:

Run Troopmaster or Packmaster

Click Reports  - Under Reports move cursor to "Awards/Advancement"

Click "Court of Honor/4403..."

Select a Starting Date that will cover all of your advancement records. This will be for the first time only. Enter today's date as Ending date. Enter a date for Awards Needed

Make sure the ScoutNET report radio button is selected:
There should be a dot in the circle to the left of ScoutNET report under 4403 Option. If this circle is empty, click in the circle

Click OK.  The award report will display

 At the top of the report, click on the disk icon and then on selection ScoutNET... (*csv)

Click Yes to update Reported Flags

Select a directory to save the report. The saved file name will start with ADVS followed by unit number with a csv file extension

Click the BSA Internet Advancement Access button to upload the saved file

After submitting the report for the first time, create subsequent upload files by changing
the Starting and Ending dates in Troopmaster and rerunning the report.
