To ensure that culturally diverse youth have the opportunity to join the Scouting program in partnership with in local community schools and organizations and recruiting strong adult leaders to serve as role models.

Scoutreach is the Boy Scouts of America's commitment to making sure that all young people have an opportunity to join Scouting, regardless of their circumstances, neighborhood, or ethnic background.  The Scoutreach Program gives special leadership and emphasis to urban Scouting programs.

Scoutreach meets the developmental needs of youth in the urban areas of Nassau County.  This program emphasizing ethics and moral values, addresses many of the social concerns of parents and youth in our country. Scouts learn lessons about life, and the value of being a responsible person of character and integrity. These lessons come through spending significant time and sharing experiences with families, Scout leaders, and fellow Scouts.

Scoutreach serves more than 1500 youth in 5 communities. These programs were established during the 2005/2006 school year  65% of the youth involved in the Scoutreach program are of Hispanic descent and the majority are from single parent families.  Scoutreach has 10 Program Specialists that deliver the program to the boys weekly.  Throughout the year the boys participate in fantastic programming both at their program site and around the community including: Scouting for Food, Bowl-a-rama, the Klondike Derby, Hall of Science, Summer Camp, Clean up day, and the Uniondale and Hempstead Memorial Day Parades.
