SERVICE WEEKENDS
Volunteers help prepare our Boy Scout and Cub
World camps to open through spring work weekends. We need persons with
construction skills, painters, general labor, and other skills that will
prepare our facilities for the 1000 plus campers we serve at Onteora and the
2500 plus Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts we serve year round at Schiff Scout
Reservation.

TROOP & PACK SERVICE
PROJECTS
"To help other people at all times." That
part of the Scout Oath reminds us to be of service to others, and a patrol
or troop service project at camp is especially fitting. The rangers
keep a list of projects that can be conducted under adult oversight.
Typical project will include trail maintenance, erosion control, courtesy
wood piles for campsites, and litter control.
Service projects with a conservation theme might
include tree planting, installing check dams, crate brush piles for wildlife
habitat, etc. Cub Scout Packs can participate in the Conservation Good
Turn program.
The camp will provide basic tools for a majority
of the jobs.
At the end of the project, please download and
fill-out the report for the project.
