Training
One of the keys to the success of the Scouting program is trained volunteer leadership. Proper training doesn’t happen by reading a book or attending every Scout meeting. The Theodore Roosevelt Council has developed outstanding and dedicated training teams to help you, as a new leader, to deliver a program and calendar that will be exciting, educational, and safe. That is their job! When leaders understand the why's and how’s of Scouting, they are more effective in their roles and their Scouts win!
It doesn't matter if you just joined Scouting or have 20 years under your belt as a Scoutmaster, you can learn something new. Scouting trains all of its adult leaders, as well as its youth leaders. Youth leadership training is critical to the success of the Scouting program at the ScoutsBSA and Venturing level because the youth carry out the program and work with fellow members to reach program goals set for the year.
