2017 Council Clay Shoot Recently Added Content

The Annual Council Clay Shoot, has become a fun fundraising event for the Nassau County Volunteers and a premiere Long Island networking event.

The Golf Classic is back again for the 33rd year in a row!! This is one of the premier golf tournaments on Long Island. This year we are playing at Seawane Golf & Country Club.

Cuboree 2017 April 7-9 "Bug Hunters"

Welcome Spring weather together with us at Cuboree, a great camping (or day trip) adventure out at Schiff Scout Reservation.

2017 PILGRIMAGE

This pilgrimage follows a tradition started after Theodore Roosevelt’s death. After laying a wreath on TR’s grave in Young's Cemetery, a pilgrimage was lead by Dan Beard from the cemetery to TR’s home Sagamore Hill. Thousands are expected to attend. If you register after April 7th your patch will be available for pick up at the council office after the event.

100th ANNIVERSARY CAPSULE CONTEST

Every member of the Theodore Roosevelt Council (or the former Nassau County Council) is invited to enter one “Lesson I have learned in Scouting” – in 25 words or less – as a member of one of 4 categories: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers or Scouters (adults only).

TRC 100TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE JOURNAL

To celebrate and remember our 100 years, we will be publishing a 100th Anniversary commemorative journal. This provides an excellent opportunity to make a mark on this occasion in the form of a Troop/Pack/Crew/Post message, a personal statement or celebration, a business ad or just a booster. "Fiesta in Pequott" - Aquatic Meet - April 1 2017

Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9:30am to 1:00pm The Aquatic Meet is a fun time for Scouts & Leaders. It is a chance for Troops to meet, interact and compete, as well an opportunity for each troop to work on their teamwork, learn more about each other and to challenge themselves to do their best. So, join in the fun and bring your Troop swimmers and non-swimmers.

Shelter Rock Recharter

Charters are due on December 15, 2017. If you have questions about rechartering, or wish to submit your charter & payments at roundtable, please come prepared. Our Commissioners will be ready to help you finish the process and collect all completed Charters. ALL NEW MEMBER APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO CHARTER SUBMISSION. Pine Tree Training Registration

Sponsored by the Sagamore Service Troop. The Pine Tree Outdoor Training Program held at Schiff Scout Reservation, is designed to educate and train Scouts in outdoor & program skills, such as Cooking, Orienteering, Archery, BB Guns, and Fishing.

I wish to thank and acknowledge all the volunteers that deliver Scouting to the youth within our District. 
 
We  have a Facebook Page that will also keep you informed of many of the upcoming events for the year. Our Facebook Page is Shelter Rock District TRC BSA. "Like us" and be informed!
 
Another important way to keep informed and increase your networking relationship with our District and Council is to attend our District Roundtables held on the second Tuesday of each month. Our Roundtable takes place at the Community Church of East Williston in Roslyn, NY. The Roundtables start at 7:30 pm.

Reports on Council and District matters to the Shelter Rock leaders are through the monthly District Meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of each month. This meeting takes place at Community Church of East Williston in Roslyn, NY and starts at 7:30 pm.
