Venturing Program

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.

Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and become good citizens.

BULLY!

On November 16th, 2013 the College of Commissioner Science and Continuing Education was hosted by Suffolk County Council. TRC Venturing supported many of the sessions for enhancing commissioner support to Venturing crews.  Along with the numerous courses offered to the adults, the program wanted to include a youth Venturer to share the ideas and experiences of Venturing.

Samantha R. (presenter in picture) is the Vice President of Communication for the Theodore Roosevelt Council Venturing Officers Association (VOA) and the Vice President of Program for Venturing Crew 577.  She created a power point for the program.  Samantha’s informative and enthusiastic presentation included aspects of Venturing and role of  the VOA.

All benefited and appreciated her time and talents as they learned so much about Venturing. Samantha’s time and efforts were greatly appreciated by the Venturing unit commissioners attending the session!

BULLY to Samantha!
