Packs 96 and 189 visit Sunken Forest

Recently, Packs 96 and 189, of Wantagh, boarded a ferry to Fire Island.  Together, they took a Ranger-guided tour of the unique ecosystem of the Sunken Forest.  They learned about all the animals that live in the park as well as the special plants that are able to live in such a special environment.  The boys identified four different animals for their Call of The Wild requirements and also learned about how climate change is impacting this fragile place.

Following the tour, both packs enjoyed a nice picnic on the pristine beach before taking the ferry back to Long Island.
