Located in the heart of the Catskills is the breathtaking Onteora Scout Reservation in Livingston Manor, New York. Nicknamed “Land in the Sky,” Onteora is home to our Scouts BSA Summer Camp as well as year-round short-term camping. While many camps have struggled nationwide—many even closing—the investments made in the Onteora property over the last few years, paired with innovative program enhancements, have ensured the camp’s success.
Each summer, Onteora welcomes more than 1,000 Scouts with a robust program offering more than 85 merit badges in 17 diverse program areas offering activities such as welding, robotics, space exploration, metalwork, search and rescue, and environmental science. Outdoor highlights included hiking, bike track racing, and ziplining.
We offer short term camping opportunities at Onteora during select weekends throughout the Fall and Spring. Members of the Onteora Alumni Association are on-site during these weekends to help units by suggesting hikes and more! "We just finished a week of Scout Summer Camp and our troop was very impressed with the facilities. The camp staff was friendly and helpful throughout the entire week and our campsite was spacious and held everyone we brought"

"Nassau County's hidden gem in the Catskills for the Boy Scouts. I attended camp here in the 1960's and I was very pleased to see that the grounds are still as pristine and beautiful today as I remembered it. Nearby is Beaverkill and the covered bridge... A wonderful place to fish, camp, swim, and commune with nature."
"My favorite BSA camp. Known as the Land in the Sky it offers everything scouts need for summer camp and year-round outdoor experiences."
