Onteora is the home of our resident Boy Scout summer camp in July and August, hosts Bear Claw NYLT, the National Youth Leadership Training course in August and provides short-term camping facilities year-round. Tent and  lean-to sites, and the Blauvelt Lodge provides short-term camping facilities during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

Bluenose, the council winter camping event, is held on President's Day weekend and provides a great opportunity to experience cold weather camping.

The camp has 1,400-acres, and it is located in the Catskill Forest Preserve approximately 6 miles from the Livingston Manor (exit 96) on NYS Route 17 (future I-86) . The "Land in the Sky" is  located  above 2,000 feet  in elevation and is heavily forested.   Our trail system  accesses state-maintained trails in the Willowemoc Wild Forest.   Orchard Lake and Sprague Brook features fine trout fishing, and is part of the Beaverkill watershed, the historic heart of American fly-fishing.
