Gone Home - Ludwig Riemenschneider

It is with great sadness that we share with our Scouting family the passing of Ludwig Riemenschneider.  He passed away peacefully.

Ludwig was a Licensed Land Surveyor for Nassau County for 35 years and served in the US Army during WWII.  He volunteered, and served in various Scouting positions for over 50 years.

The family will be receiving visitors at:

    William E. Law Funeral Home

    1 Jerusalem Avenue

    Massapequa, NY 11758

Wake:

    Tuesday, November 25, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM -9:00 PM

Please keep Ludwig's family in your thoughts as we continue to inspire, guide and lead our youth of today, and our future leaders of tomorrow.

Prayer for Fallen Scouts:

Almighty Father, as we grieve the loss of these leaders, help us to remember their involvement with Scouting.  Show us how they lived the Scout oath and law.  We ask that you comfort us as we will miss their friendship and fellowship.

What does "Gone Home" mean?

The use of "Gone Home" in Scouting refers to the trail sign meaning "all is well, I am safe, and have gone home."  It was first used at Baden Powell's gravesite in Kenya upon his passing.
