National Youth Leadership Training

STAFF INFORMATION

Bear Claw National Youth Leadership Training is run by a volunteer  staff.  The course is setup to model a boy-run troop, and youth staff members hold the leadership positions.

The youth staff have participated in past courses and are committed to providing the participants with the best course possible.

  • Senior Patrol Leader

  • Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

  • Quartermaster

  • Troop Guides (6 youth)

Youth interested in being on the Bear Claw NYLT staff must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of the Foxfire course

  • Attendance of all pre-course training weekends

  • Completion of the interview process

  • 14 - 17 years of age

Adult Volunteer Positions: (Download Position Descriptions)

All registered adult scouters are welcome to volunteer.

  • Scoutmaster

  • Assistant Scoutmaster - Program

  • Assistant Scoutmaster - Support

Potential Scout Masters must meet the following criteria:

  • Attendance of Wood Badge and other "Trained" requirements

  • Familiarity with the Bear Claw course

  • Registration with the BSA of America

  • 18 years of age
