TRC Halloween and Fall Festival 2019

Make sure you scroll all the way down for full Info....

Well, I guess you need to know more.  Here goes.  This event is big..the biggest.  At Schiff.  Camp or come for the day.  supply your own food or have us cook for you.  All choices you have when you sign up.  But, this is an all out festival for Cub Scouts and their families at Schiff Scout Reservation.  You won't be able to do it all.  Archery, BB, Bounce Houses, Hayrides, a Haunted House that will scare your...badges off....and so much Trunk or Treating...and other stuff.  Nuff you can sign up.

This event sells out.  It's rain or shine....and nothing scares me more than getting all the calls the day before with peoples sorry stories about why they didn't sign up.  You know now.  Click the little register button and make it happen now!

Be there or be scare....d.

We have tons of new stuff going on this year.

  1. The Haunted house will be better and badder than ever!  Now moved into a building down by the Waterfront.  Plans are in motion, great new design.  For those of you who are handy, we could use help with the build out on the weekend of October 12-13.  Contact Pete 516-790-9044 If you can lend a hand, but here are some preliminary pics of the new walls we are designing:
  2. We are eagerly awaiting delivery of our all new hayride trailer.  Now we will have 2!  The same great hayride around our scenic lake trail, and another hay trailer running the paved road through camp all day to help you move from area to area.  Here's a pic of the new trailer (with built in seating):

  3. Once again, 2 great DJs in the camp to keep the party going.
  4. 4 Awesome inflatable slides/obstacle courses placed throughout the camp.

  5. So many more team and individual games and stuff to do.
  6. Face painting!
  7. BB Guns and Archery!

  8. Trunk or Treat!  You decorate your car, and be prepared for well over 1000 trick or treaters!  So bring costumes and bags too for trick or treating!  We usually get over 50 cars participating.  It's awesome!  Trophies to the top 3 cars!!! (This will take place Saturday night, in the main parking lot.  Special spots will be marked for Trunk or Treater cars only!) (Note:  You'll want clear signage on your car, pack number and name, so we know who you are for awards judging)

  9. Our Home made Scarecrow competition.  Up by the check in area, decorate the area with Scarecrows you built with your den or pack! (You build them before in a den or pack meeting and bring them with you). Trophies to the top 3 Scarecrows! (And hint, hint, you have an edge in the competition if we can tell the kids made it! (Note:  You'll want clear signage on your display, den and pack number, so we know who you are for awards judging)

  10. Great new "shows".  Locations and times to be announced closer to the event.  We have 2 "Mad science Shows booked: "Fire and Ice" - All kinds of dazzling visual experiments and ice.  and "Spin, Boom, Pop!" - I honestly have no idea what this is, but it sounds freakin' cool.  We also have an Exotic Animal show booked, with over 21 animals that many of the kids will be able to touch and interact with during the show. (If anyone has connections, reach out to Pete 516-790-9044...looking to add a magician and a petting zoo if we can...)

How does it all work?

Camp out or come for the day!  Same price.  Opt in to the meal plan for an extra fee.  Wrist bands for all will be given at the event to participate.  Only those who pay for the meal plan will be allowed in the dining hall during meals.

Campers can come in after 5pm Friday.  THERE WILL BE NO DRIVING INTO CAMP ON SATURDAY.  Hitch a ride on the hay ride or bring a wagon.

Saturday Arrivals can check in after 7am.

All of the activities are open from 9:30am-4:30PM SATURDAY ONLY.  SUNDAY is for packing up and going home only.

Trunk or Treat is at 8pm.  By 9pm, it's all over.  Back to the sites, the cars, call it a day.

Register early.  This event often closes out due to high demand, and spaces to park....Carpooling is highly encouraged.
