Summer Day Camp themed weeks!

How does the the "bus thing" work?

For 2019 we are going to continue localized Day Camp in County. For July 8th-12th @ Christopher Morley Park, For July 15th-19th @ Bethpage State Park, and a 3rd In County Park drop off & pick up will be at the park by a parent or family member. The 2 Weeks that our Day Camp will be based out at Schiff Scout Reservation we will be using busing to & from camp.
The  Weeks are:

July 29th-August 2nd

August 5th-August 9th

My son or daughter takes prescription medication-how will you handle that at camp?

The health and safety of our campers is our primary concern. So much so that we have a trained health officer on staff every single day. If your son or daughter takes prescription medication please be sure to pack it in a Ziploc bag with their name on it. A Den Leader will then hand the medication to our Health officer  who will oversee its distribution at the proper time.

What is the average day like?

We always start the day with pledge and scout oath & scout law then we rotate through our program areas-Crafts, Aquatics, Scoutcraft, Nature,  Shooting Sports (BB Guns, Archery & Sling Shot) and Field Sports. We usually do two program areas before lunch and three after lunch. We then send them home with a light snack!

What about the Staff?

Most of our staff is returning from the last few summers, and are very familiar with the camp. We take training very seriously. Our Shooting Sports Director is NRA Certified, our Aquatics Director and Program Director are National Camp School Certified (a certification that required almost two total weeks of training), and we surpass the Department of Health of Nassau / Suffolk County's minimum mandate for CPR Training.

What should
they bring day-to-day?

Sunscreen / Bug Spray / Camp Draw String bag

Towel / Bathing Suit / Rain Gear(poncho)

Hat / Water Bottle

What should they wear?

Easy! Closed-toe shoes with socks and whatever is comfortable!
