Onteora Scout Reservation - "Land in the Sky"
3 Old Hunter Rd.
Livingston Manor, NY 12758
845.439.5239 (July and August only)
Located in Livingston Manor, New York the camp consists of 1,400 acres and adjoins the Catskill State Forest Preserve. It was opened in 1955 due to overcrowding in Camp Wauwepex. The camp was closed for a brief period in its history and reopened with pride in 1998. It is the only Boy Scout camp to have been closed, and then reopened.
Owned and operated by the Theodore Roosevelt Council, the camp is appropriately nicknamed "The Land in the Sky" due to its location in the heart of the Catskills. The camp surrounds a lake also appropriately named Orchard Lake because below the water are remnants of an old orchard that was flooded.
